The hotel’s location in Dubai Media City, just three tram stops from Dubai Marina, places it close to the electrifying rhythm of New Dubai, but also conveniently far enough to relax in a soothing environment after a hectic day of sightseeing around the city. Some hotel guests don’t even bother taking a trip to other parts of Dubai, since the area around the hotel itself is one of the city’s most enjoyable and upmarket neighbourhoods. Bustling cafes, restaurants, and bars are on literally every block in the nearby Dubai Marina – including local landmarks like Dubai Marina Mall and the Nakheel Mall. The Walk (in Dubai Marina) is also home to a bustling outdoor promenade with luxury designer outlets, chain stores, and world-renowned international retailers. Other places of interest nearby include the Blue Water Island, Ain Dubai, Mall of the Emirates, JBR Beach, Zipline and Skydive Dubai.

Colourful, Vibrant Decor

The hotel’s colourful decor is at its most vibrant in the spacious lobby. The vividly decorated lobby features some exquisite paintings and calligraphic artworks and leads to the all-day dining restaurant, Seven Seeds, on one side, and the outdoor swimming pool, on the other.

Accommodation

The hotel’s residentially-styled guest rooms and suites are furnished with luxurious amenities and feature floor-to-ceiling glass windows. The hotel corridors feature colourful plush carpeting and vibrant acrylic paintings creating a subdued ambiance. The Avani Palm View Hotel & Suites offers a total of 247 rooms – from studio apartments to 1, 2 and 3 bedroom suites as well as duplex apartments.

Room with a view

During my two night stay at the hotel, I was in a one-bedroom sea view suite which was located on the 7th floor and offered a partial view of the Palm Jumeirah. The corner suite featured a spacious bedroom with a queen-size bed, a separate sitting area, a fully-equipped kitchen, and a balcony. The large, marble bathroom featured a rainfall shower and luxurious amenities like branded shampoo, conditioner and body wash.

While small, the bedroom was thoughtfully laid-out and equipped with a desk and a lounge chair. Room amenities included two bathrobes, a set of disposable slippers, a flat-panel LG TV with HD channels, complementary WiFi and an IPTV system. The ensuite bathroom featured a sink, shower and lavatory. Branded toiletries were provided (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap & lotion).

Service staff are friendly, efficient and quick. All my requests were promptly dealt with.
Room rates are rather affordable (this is probably one of the most modestly priced hotels in the area).
The hotel’s full-service swimming pool on the first floor offers a welcome respite from the city heat during the summer months and offers stunning views of Dubai’s skyline. For those traveling with small kids, there is also a kid’s pool and a hot tub.

Breakfast was an enjoyable experience. There is a good selection of bread, pastries and cereals. Little shots of nutritious juices were my favourite though. Those with a sweet tooth may be tempted by the wide selection of sweets, cakes and pastries on offer. I invited my daughter and son to join us for dinner at the Seven Seeds and we thoroughly enjoyed the excellent food and ambience at the spacious dining outlet.

Opened in December 2019, the Avani Palm View Hotel & Suites is a relatively new hotel and I was impressed by the overall look and feel in all areas of the hotel. Modern, contemporary interiors combined with ultra modern technology and amenities make this a perfect place to stay for those looking to explore and enjoy all that Dubai has to offer.

The hotel offers varied dining options, all of them serving delectable cuisine in the hotel’s main restaurant, The Seven Seeds, located on the lobby level. During the winter season, the restaurant extends service to the outdoor seating available by the poolside. The international kitchen serves all kinds of cuisine, influenced by the global diversity of Dubai and keeping in mind the large number of international guests that come from all across the world to stay at this premium property.

The property is managed by the Avani Hotel Group which has properties in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Australia. Avani Palm View Dubai Hotel & Suites is the latest addition to the upscale Avani Hotel Group brand’s growing portfolio of properties in the UAE, joining Avani Ibn Battuta Dubai Hotel and Avani Deira Dubai Hotel.

Suggestions

The entrance to the hotel is rather difficult to find – even when using Google Maps. Maybe reversing the entrance driveway loop and signposting the entrance more prominently would help.
Rooms located on the higher floors offer phenomenal views of the Palm Jumeriah and Dubai Marina, but the rooms located on the lower floors don’t have such panoramic views. So, try and book a room on the higher floors if you want a room with a view.

How to get there

Avani Palm View Hotel & Suites is located 25 minutes from the Dubai International Airport and 30 minutes from Al Maktoum International Airport. The hotel offers airport pick up and drop off. You can also take public transport from and to the airport using the Dubai Metro and bus link.

Best Time To Visit

Winters is obviously the best time to visit Dubai as temperatures soar into the 40s in the summer months. However, an increasing number of visitors prefer to avoid the winter tourist season to enjoy discounted hotel rates during the off-peak summer months. The best weather in Dubai is between November to March.
