The Oman Ministry of Tourism and Air Arabia joined forces to showcase Oman’s beauty and uniqueness to visitors from the UAE and the rest of the GCC countries, in an experiential event held at JW Marriott Marquis Hotel, Dubai. The interactive event came amid the Ministry’s intensified campaign in the Emirates to attract more travelers to the Sultanate, with the expected long holidays scheduled in the country till the end of the year. It also served as a platform for the Ministry to form strategic partnerships with key airline players in the region to further drive Oman’s growing tourism activity and create more visibility for the Sultanate.
The participants, mainly comprising UAE citizens and residents, were treated to an authentic Oman experience during the event. A wide range of major local attractions and the Sultanate’s rich heritage were featured, highlighting further why many renowned travel experts consider Oman as a one-of-a-kind destination in the world. The Sultanate is a major tourism target for many UAE residents, who make up the largest bulk of visitors coming from neighboring GCC countries.
Asma Al Hajry, Deputy Director General International Tourism Promotions, Oman Ministry of Tourism, said: “The Ministry is closely collaborating with strategic partners and key players in the regional travel and tourism industry to create awareness opportunities and further promote Oman’s most attractive tourist destinations. Our continuing cooperation with Air Arabia, in particular, has consistently generated positive results and contributed to creating greater awareness and interest from a much broader target audience.”
“Our latest experiential activity in Dubai has further bolstered our efforts towards attaining our main goal. Through our event, we are confident that we will witness a substantial increase in the number of visitors coming from the UAE and the rest of the GCC states, as well as establish new and lasting partnerships with the region’s key airline companies,” Al Hajry added.
The Sultanate of Oman has long been attracting a wide range of discerning travelers, from solo visitors to couples and families, who want to experience the country’s high-adrenaline activities such as desert crossing, paddle-boarding, kite surfing, cliff-diving, hiking, trekking, scuba diving, and snorkeling. Aside from its hospitality, Oman is also famous for its ancient UNESCO World Heritage listed sites, forts and castles, mountains, wadis or deserts, and its infamous prehistoric frankincense trail. Last but certainly not least, the spontaneous hospitality of Omanis tends to create long-lasting memories in the visitors’ distinctive experiences in the country.
